Wavesat Discloses Mobility Chip Plans

Leading developer of WiMAX silicon breaks new ground with backward compatible mobility chip.
Wavesat, a leading developer of WiMAX silicon, today announced at the IEEE 802.16 meeting in Atlanta, that it has reached the final development stage of its mobility solution, featuring advanced voice over WiMAX and full backward compatibility with existing DM256 fixed service chips.
Developed as part of the Evolutive WiMAX Series, the new chip's key technical specifications will be released at this year's Broadband Wireless World Show to be held in Las Vegas April 21-22, 2005.

In addition to carrying breakthrough features, this new chip will be available in multiple packaging formats optimized to fit the needs of several market segments and applications, including base station markets.
